What is Ninjutsu? (忍術)

is the martial arts, strategy, and tactics of unconventional warfare used by the Shinobi or Ninja sometimes called by its more spiritual name ninpō (忍法), The main character; nin (忍) is made up of two greater characters, the upper kanji is that of ha or toh (刃) meaning the cutting edge of the blade or sword, the lower kanji is that of kokoro or shin (心) meaning heart. Putting the two together you get nin (忍), meaning endurance, patience and perseverance. The literal meaning of this is "even though the sword is above my heart I will be patient and persevere."
